When I was a young actor, I worked on the side as a photographer. Being behind the camera enabled a deep and immediate connection with people and the environment. That desire for connection was what I also sought through performance.
Returning to performance at this age has required me to get new photos of myself and I’ve decided to see if I can take my own portraits. I’m also hoping the photos lead to a deeper awareness and connection with myself and my life as it is. I face this with some trepidation but it seems necessary and right. And so with humility and curiosity, I share the self portraits here.
There’s a chance this work will lead to new connections and possibilities. If that happens, I’ll be so grateful.
